Every Lomac inflatable boat has EC certification; in order to obtain it the manufacturer must have the proposed model pass complex international tests.
When these tests have been passed, the R.I.N.A. (Italian Naval Register) issues the Certificate of Conformity for the production. Lomac Nautica therefore places a plate on every boat showing the compulsory data, such as: particulars of the manufacturer, the capacity in kg., approval, the Design Category and the registration number (HIN). This is done to certify that the craft has been built in accordance with the pleasure craft directives (European Directive 94/25/EC).
The plate also shows the Design and Navigation Category according to which the environmental extremes within which that craft can navigate are determined.
The design categories can be summed up as follows:
A - ON THE HIGH SEA
craft designed for deep-sea voyages, where the wind force can be greater than 8 (Beaufort Scale) and the significant wave height greater than 4 m, amply self-sufficient craft.
B - OFFSHORE
craft designed for cruising on the high seas, where the wind force can be equal to 8 and the significant wave height can reach 4 m.
C - NEAR THE COAST
craft designed for cruising in coastal waters, big bays, estuaries, rivers and lakes, where the wind force can be equal to 6 and the significant wave height can reach 2 m.
D - SHELTERED WATERS
craft designed for cruising in small lakes, rivers and canals, where the wind force can be equal to 4 and the significant wave height can reach 0.5 m.
